Laser Tag Adds Fun To Boarding School Weekend Activities

Boarders often make suggestions for these, with popular activities including tobogganing, bowling, laser tag, the cinema, restaurants and dessert bars.

Bringing the Laser Tag onsite can be more cost affective as it can be used for longer periods of time over a wider amount of students. They can get creative designing and building a fun course with places to hide.

Laser Tag Review From A Local School

On Sunday, April 30th, 2023, boarding students at St Lawrence College had an exciting afternoon playing laser tag. The event was organised by Mr Ravenwood, the Weekend Activities Coordinator, to provide students with an opportunity to have fun and bond with their peers.

Laser tag is a high-energy game that involves players carrying laser guns with special sensors that detect lasers from the other team. The objective is to tag opponents with the laser guns while avoiding being tagged yourself. After being hit 5 times, the player has to go back to their base and this awards 1 point to the opposing team. The game is a popular activity among young people, and it’s not hard to see why. It’s a thrilling, fast-paced experience that requires quick reflexes, strategic thinking, and teamwork.

The laser tag event was held on the school’s field, with inflatable obstacles to give cover, this provided ample space for students to run around and hide. Meanwhile smoke grenades were used to simulate futuristic battles. The students were divided into two teams – Red and Blue. The teams then faced off against each other in several rounds of intense laser tag battles.

The students had a ‘blast’ playing laser tag, and the event was a great success. Housemasters and mistresses were pleased to see the students having fun and interacting with each other in a positive way. The event also provided a break from the students’ academic studies and gave them a chance to unwind and recharge before returning to their revision.

Everyone involved had a fantastic time, including Mr Ravenwood, who became a target of the 6th Form snipers in the final match.

Overall, the laser tag event was a fantastic way for boarding students at St Lawrence College to spend a Sunday afternoon. It was a fun-filled, high-energy experience that allowed students to bond with each other and blow off some steam. Mr Ravenwood is already planning more events like this in the future, and the students can’t wait to see what they have in store.
